Simon Boccanegra
The Space, Westferry Road 269, E14 3RS London, Isle of Dogs
About
An informal concert performance of Verdi's opera Simon Boccanegra, sung in Italian with English surtitles. Uncovered Opera Company bring together the covers of their successful Midsummer Opera performance from July 2026 to sing the work with piano accompaniment, in a performance lasting just under three hours with an interval. The opera is set in Genoa, where the seafarer Simon Boccanegra accepts election as doge in the hope of uniting his family, but on election day his beloved dies and his infant daughter vanishes, and 25 years later fate offers him one more chance at the reunion he longs for.
