About

An opera performance of Verdi's 'Un ballo in maschera' at the Royal Opera House in London. Director Philipp Stölzl makes his Royal Opera debut with this playfully surreal new production of Verdi's gripping, passionate opera based on a real historical royal assassination. King Gustavo, consumed by desire for his best friend's wife, is warned of his impending death by a fortune teller, weaving a tangled web of passion, treachery, prophecy and politics.
