About
An exhibition of paintings by the Bloomsbury painters Vanessa Bell, Duncan Grant and Roger Fry, shown at Philip Mould & Company and titled after Virginia Woolf's declaration that 'on or about December 1910 human character changed.' It gathers works from the painters' most radical decade, when Roger Fry's 1910 Post-Impressionist exhibition first showed British audiences Cézanne, Gauguin, Van Gogh and Matisse. Drawn mainly from private collections, it includes Vanessa Bell's Portrait of Duncan Grant (1915), shown publicly for the first time, Duncan Grant's Still Life in the Garden Room at Charleston (c.1918) and Roger Fry's Poinsettias in a Vase (c.1915). The exhibition is free to all with no booking required, and runs alongside Tate Britain's Vanessa Bell & Duncan Grant: Inside Bloomsbury, to which Philip Mould & Company is lending works.
