About
A lecture by Rob Smith, part of the CA London series, about how British sailors fought the Barbary Pirates of North Africa. From 1600, pirates preyed on the British coast and merchant ships, capturing people for sale in North African slave markets. The talk tells the story of the following 200 years, in which British sailors worked to rescue the slaves and make the sea safe, despite the claim that Britons never shall be slaves.
