The Time Masters: animated space odyssey by Laloux.

The Time Masters is a 1982 animated science-fiction film, a visually fantastic existentialist space adventure. It was directed by visionary animator René Laloux, known for Fantastic Planet, and designed by legendary artist Jean Giraud, a.k.a. Mœbius. After his parents are killed on the dangerous planet Perdide, young Piel survives by radio contact with the pilot Jaffar, who transports the exiled Prince Matton and Princess Belle and seeks help from the cheerful old-timer Silbad. Along the way they encounter brain-devouring insects, impish stowaway homunculi, hive-mind angels and the Masters of Time, mysterious beings who can bend reality and perhaps reveal the heroes' secret origins and destinies.
