Transforming: the Complete Works 2009–26

About
Transforming: the Complete Works 2009–26 is a current exhibition of moving paintings by Rob and Nick Carter. Since 2008 the artists have translated static masterpieces into moving paintings, a slow art of durational looking, with works held by the Mauritshuis and the Städel Museum. After an eight-year break, this new cycle uses human-guided AI as a painterly material, curated frame by frame like a digital brush. The works celebrate artists who investigated light and form through repetition, from Monet's London fog and Kandinsky's visual music to Anna Ancher's interiors.
