Paula Cooper Gallery, West 21st Street 534, 10011 New York, Manhattan
About
"Claes Oldenburg: Six Themes" is an exhibition of sculpture, drawings and prints at a New York gallery. It is presented by the Estate of Claes Oldenburg & Coosje van Bruggen and Paula Cooper Gallery, revisiting a landmark 1975 survey organized by Martin Friedman for the Walker Art Center. The show gathers works on six themes the artist pursued in many materials and scales: Geometric Mouse, Three-Way Plug, Fagends, Clothespin, Typewriter Eraser and Standing Mitt with Ball. It is the first exhibition devoted to this body of work in fifty years and includes an illustrated brochure with a text by David Platzker.
