About

The Indigenous Central Park Tour is a guided walk through the lesser-traveled areas of Central Park's wooded north end. It is run by the Central Park Conservancy and explores the past, present, and future of indigenous presence in the park's landscapes. Before Europeans arrived, the land was part of an ecosystem the Lenape people still call home, and the tour uncovers vestiges of their presence. Through native flora and fauna, it also references contemporary indigenous relationships with the land.
