About
New Music from Washington and Jackson is a high-energy evening of brand-new musical theater performed on the Lobby Stage. It is created by writers Dwayne Washington and Brandon Jackson, collaborators trained at Juilliard and Berklee who recently had a sold-out run at Green Room 42 and a developmental reading of their first public work, Influenced, with ATC Theater in Pittsburgh. Drawing on world music, R&B, jazz, classical, and hip-hop, they create a sound that is unmistakably their own. The performance features songs from three musicals currently in development, celebrating Black joy, bold storytelling, and a fresh perspective on what Broadway can sound like.
