Mildred Thompson: Cosmos Calling

An exhibition of paintings and electronic music compositions by the American artist Mildred Thompson, opening with a reception. Presented by Galerie Lelong in New York, it is the gallery's third exhibition dedicated to her and shows her Music of the Spheres paintings alongside works from her Heliocentric Series. Created in the early-to-mid 1990s, the works draw on Thompson's interests in astrophysics and music, turning toward our solar system and the invisible forces that make up the fabric of the universe. It marks the first public showing in New York of these paintings and their accompanying compositions, inspired by the NASA Voyager recordings and made with electronics, toy instruments, and found objects.
