About

Native Heritage Month at Parsons Welcomes Southwest Pueblo Talent is a panel conversation held at The New School. It is presented by Indigenous Rising and organized by Indigenizing Parsons, which brings together three Pueblo artists from the Southwest to explore the intersections of Indigenous fashion, dance, cultural identity, and creative expression. Than Povi Martinez, Sage Mountainflower, and Loren Aragon speak, with Patricia Michaels moderating. The conversation looks at how Indigenous artists and designers draw on their relationships to community, cultural knowledges, and ancestral practices in their contemporary creative work.
