STEAM Lab: Design Your Own Board Game
Howard Beach
About
STEAM Lab: Design Your Own Board Game is a hands-on workshop for teens at the Howard Beach branch of the Queens Public Library. Board games are enjoying a revival as new styles of gaming shift from luck and conflict to strategy and cooperation, drawing new players to the genre. In the program, teens plan a game, research game mechanics, design their play area and pieces, and decide how to play-test their creation. Craft materials and makerspace tools such as 3Doodler Pens and the Cricut Machine are provided, and no prior experience is required.
