STEAM Lab: Design Your Own Board Game
About
A hands-on workshop for teens in which participants plan a board game, research game mechanics, design their play area and pieces, and figure out how to play-test their creation. Craft materials and makerspace tools such as 3Doodler Pens and the Cricut Machine are provided, and no prior experience is needed; attendance is first-come, first-served. The program is put on by Queens Public Library at its Ridgewood location and reflects the current revival of board games, which have shifted from luck and conflict toward strategy and cooperation.
