Trail Work Thursdays
Van Cortlandt Park Alliance
About
Trail Work Thursdays is a hands-on volunteer session caring for the trails of a large park in the Bronx. It is run by the Van Cortlandt Park Alliance, a group working with the city parks department to preserve and promote the park. Participants clear debris and overgrowth, close unofficial paths to protect habitats, and help with trail safety and erosion control. Volunteers meet at the VCPA Learning Garden, where gloves, tools, and guidance are provided; sturdy closed-toe shoes are required.
