About
«Huis Clos» is a theatre premiere after Jean-Paul Sartre's classic, in which three strangers are locked in an unknown salon with no way out, unable to escape the piercing gazes of the others. Direction and choreography are by Camille Charlotte and Sophie Flannery Prune Vergères, performed by the ensemble with Yann Philipona, Miriam Japp, Lisa Ursula Tschanz and Martin Butzke. The piece is about paranoia, shame and the morbid reasons that condemned the three to this elegant hell, in which time itself passes strangely. Trapped among slants, voices from the walls and breaking-in memories, the characters' attempts to break out and their longing for freedom eventually spill over onto the play itself.
