About
The installation “Shaping States” (“zustandsgestalten”) is a temporary, space-filling work on view in the greenhouses of the succulent collection. The artist Reto Pulfer, born in 1981, works with textiles, woven elements and organic materials, intervening in existing spaces. The ribbons he weaves himself complement and contrast with the succulents' diversity of forms, sometimes attached to the plants, sometimes climbed by them. The result is a symbiotic coexistence in which plants and human culture merge and existing hierarchies are dissolved.
