About
ØKSE is a concert of genre-defying music whose name is Danish for “AX”. Behind it are four musicians: Danish saxophonist Mette Rasmussen, U.S. drummer Savannah Harris, Swedish bassist Petter Eldh and Haitian sound alchemist Val Jeanty. The result is impulsive, driving intensity with explosions at the boundaries of jazz, ranging from jazz and the Sami joik to rap and Haitian voodoo. The band won the German Jazz Prize for Best International Album as well as the Danish Music Award.
