Talks and readings
Reading from works by writer and psychoanalyst Angela Rohr.
About
A reading from works by the writer, psychoanalyst and physician Angela Rohr (1890–1985), who became known only posthumously through her biographical account of the Gulag and much later as an expressionist poet and feuilletonist. She is introduced by Georgia Lummert of the Leibniz Centre for Literary and Cultural Research, with passages read by acting students Émilie Defeu and Asena Ersöz of the Berlin University of the Arts. The reading looks at Rohr's Berlin years – she moved into the Uhlandstraße in 1920 and later the Hindenburgstraße – and her life after following her husband Wilhelm to Moscow in the mid-1920s. It is the third instalment of the series 'Literarische Heimat Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf', in which the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf public library together with the ZfL and the acting programme of the UdK presents authors who lived in Wilmersdorf and Charlottenburg.
