About
Ensemble Discoveries gives a concert moving between free improvisation and contemporary music. Founded in 2016, the quintet regularly performs concerts and premieres; here they play "(ein) zarter Zerfall" as a premiere. The lineup consists of two cellos (Hui-Chun Lin, Vincent Laju), two double basses (Matthias Bauer, Isabel Rößler) and a contrabass clarinet (Chris Heenan). The five musicians use improvisation as a shared technique, combining their different musical backgrounds and exploring chamber music playing in various contexts – a journey through sound worlds.
