About
A symphony concert by the Berliner Philharmoniker in the Philharmonie's main hall. Conductor and fortepiano soloist Maxim Emelyanychev leads works by Mendelssohn, Mozart and Haydn; Yun Zeng, principal horn of the orchestra since 2024, performs Mozart's Fourth Horn Concerto, appearing as a soloist with his orchestra for the first time. After Mendelssohn's concert overture Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage, Emelyanychev plays Haydn's Piano Concerto No. 11 on the fortepiano and then conducts his Symphony No. 104. The concert lasts about two hours including an interval, and a concert introduction takes place beforehand.
