Galerie Wedding, Müllerstraße 146/147, 13353 Berlin, Wedding
About
The finissage of the exhibition »매난국죽 Mae Nan Guk Juk: Diasporic Memories Formed in Clay« focuses on memories of Korean migration to the Federal Republic of Germany in the 1960s and 1970s. It features a film screening with artist Jinran Ha, whose video work »Symbiogenesis of Different Beings – Becoming Life Together« was produced in collaboration with the Korean Women's Group in Germany e. V. (KFD) and weaves personal narratives of migration and labor struggles with a hand-care ritual. Sun-Ju Choi also gives a film lecture marking the 20th anniversary of the publication »Zuhause – Erzählungen von deutschen Koreanerinnen«, edited by Heike Berner and Sun-Ju Choi. Together with co-authors Cha-Jo An (with Mira Choi) and Soon Im Kim-Morris, selected readings and archival film footage commemorate the stories of the women, followed by a shared discussion.
