About
"Hot Tropical Nights. Radames Gnattali und seine Quintette" is a concert at the Brotfabrik honoring a composer who combined jazz, popular music and classical music. It opens the series as a tribute to Radamés Gnattali, one of the most significant Brazilian composers of the 20th century, whose death marks its 20th anniversary in 2026. The evening centers on his quintets between chamber music and jazz, performed for the first time in Germany – based on handwritten manuscripts from the composer's estate provided by his nephew Roberto Gnattali. For this concert, a quintet of outstanding musicians from Berlin's jazz and Brazil scene was assembled, interpreting the works under the musical direction of Trigo Santana from the perspective of improvised music.
