About

KOKOSCHKAS ADENAUER.WARHOLS BRANDT. is an exhibition on extraordinary encounters between art and politics. The German Bundestag presents it at FORUM KUNST, with Kristina Volke as its curator. It centres on two highlights of the Bundestag's art collection: Oskar Kokoschka's portrait of Konrad Adenauer from 1966 and Andy Warhol's portrait of Willy Brandt from 1976. Both paintings came about through private initiative by gallery owners to support charitable causes and drew enormous public attention even at the time of their making.
