Kundgebung: Gedenken an den „Freiberger Blutsonnabend“ am 27. Oktober 1923
Platz der Oktoberopfer, Freiberg
About
A rally commemorating 29 workers and unemployed people who were shot by the Reichswehr at a demonstration of the unemployed in Freiberg on 27 October 1923. The rally is organised by the group Klasse Gegen Klasse, which sees itself as part of the German and Saxony workers' movement. The commemoration recalls the victims of the so-called Reichsexekution against the Saxon workers' government of SPD and KPD, a white terror that went unpunished. People meet at the Platz der Oktoberopfer in front of the memorial in Freiberg; those travelling together from Leipzig gather at Leipzig Hauptbahnhof at 2 pm.
