About
The "Library Hour" is a lecture series held by the library of the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin, turning its rooms into a lively cultural space for encounters and dialogue. Twice a semester, the focus is on important book and sheet music publications from the collection. Prof. Dr. Stefan Drees turns his attention to the work of the African American composers Scott Joplin, Florence Price and William Dawson. Using books, scores and recordings, he speaks about the need to engage with the historical and social conditions surrounding their works.
