About
„Tucholsky - Gegen einen Ozean pfeift man nicht an“ is a staged musical portrait of the writer Kurt Tucholsky. Using his texts and the music of his era, it paints the picture of a social critic and satirist who threw himself with equal passion into political debates and into the pleasure-seeking of the Weimar Republic. With almost clairvoyant sharpness he saw Germany sliding into catastrophe and warned of the looming dangers years before Hitler's rise to power. Those involved include Alina Lieske (direction), Ildiko Bognar (author), Jürgen Beyer (musical direction), as well as Stefanie Dietrich and Carl Martin Spengler.
