About
Metaxy : Zwischen Zerstörung und Wiederaufbau is an exhibition with a four-part accompanying programme at the Akademie der Künste on Hanseatenweg. A project by the Akademie der Künste together with ARCH+, curated by a team led by Anh-Linh Ngo, it looks at the uncertain moment between destruction and reconstruction, when societies have not yet settled how to deal with loss, guilt and memory. It presents positions by artists from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, Israel, Yemen, Palestine, Poland, Sudan, Syria, Ukraine and the USA, and its exhibition architecture traces the former layout of the site at a 1:1 scale. Tours, Lecture Performance Walks through the Hansaviertel and the musical-performance ZWISCHENSTÜCKE accompany the show.
