About
A panel discussion with reading as part of the "On Justice" series at HAU Hebbel am Ufer. Lawyer and 2026 winner of the Peace Prize of the German Book Trade Philippe Sands, former Federal Minister of Justice Herta Däubler-Gmelin and human rights lawyer Wolfgang Kaleck discuss, moderated by Siri Keil, memory, responsibility and justice from the Nuremberg Trials to The Hague. Drawing on Sands' latest book "38 Londres Street. On Impunity, Pinochet in England and a Nazi in Patagonia", they talk about the relationship between literature and law as well as the possibilities and limits of international criminal law. The series is a project by HAU Hebbel am Ufer in cooperation with the ECCH (European Centre for Constitutional and Human Rights).
