About

An academic lecture in the research colloquium on Late Antiquity and the Early Middle Ages at Freie Universität Berlin. James M. Harland from Bonn discusses new ancient DNA studies and their role in the debate about the so-called migration period and the end of Roman Britain. He asks what these studies actually contribute on migration across the North Sea and calls for care in distinguishing media discourse from the debate as practiced by specialists. The colloquium takes place in cooperation with the Institute of Prehistoric Archaeology, and an online link is offered.
