Vor 50 Jahren. Das Fontane-Haus im Märkischen Viertel
Galerie im Fontane-Haus
About
An exhibition marking the 50th anniversary of the Fontane-Haus, the cultural centre of the Märkischen Viertel. With historical photographs and works by Hans Göpfert, Joachim Ickrath, Werner Mühlbrecht, Monika Sieveking, Reimar Venske and Helmut Verch, it looks back at the artistic and social mood during the building's construction and early years and also turns to its architectural surroundings. A rotating display additionally presents works from the collection of the Graphothek Berlin, which as Germany's oldest and largest art library has been based in the Fontane-Haus since 2004 and lends out its original artworks. The artworks shown in the exhibition can be borrowed directly during the art library's opening hours.
