About
The Mark Buckingham Big Band: “Love You Madly” – The Unforgettable Music of Duke Ellington! is a big band concert. The MB Big Band brings the unforgettable music of Duke Ellington, with selectively chosen professional musicians emulating stars that performed with Ellington, such as Johnny Hodges, Paul Gonsalves, Harry Carney, Cootie Williams, Ray Nance and Russel Procope. Their programme includes original arrangements of Concerto for Cootie, Agra, Blue Goose and Caravan, mixed with connoisseur material. The band was created during lockdown, streamed many events on YouTube, and has since performed evenings with the works of great big band leaders like Woody Herman and Thad Jones; it now presents the works of The Duke.
