About
A big band evening at Jazz Cafe Posk dedicated to the music of Duke Ellington. The Mark Buckingham Big Band, formed during lockdown by selected professional musicians, performs Ellington's original arrangements, including "Concerto for Cootie", "Agra", "Blue Goose" and "Caravan". Its players evoke the stars who performed with Ellington, such as Johnny Hodges, Paul Gonsalves, Harry Carney, Cootie Williams, Ray Nance and Russell Procope. The band has previously streamed events on YouTube and performs the works of great big band leaders such as Woody Herman and Thad Jones, and now presents the works of "The Duke".
