Jamboree, St Chad's Place 6, London, King's Cross
£14 / £11 (earlybird) £9 advance
About
A Sunday lunchtime concert of live jazz and swing at Jamboree, a Kings Cross venue for jazz, world music and European folk. It features clarinettist and bandleader Ewan Bleach with his big band, The Fleeting Paradise Orchestra. The ten-piece-style ensemble plays arrangements of popular songs and original blues and jazz numbers from the 'territory' bands of late 1920s and early 1930s America, such as Benny Moten, Charlie Johnson, Fess Williams and Duke Ellington. They also perform material from Canadian and British dance bands like Guy Lombardo and Bert Ambrose, alongside Ewan Bleach's own compositions and arrangements, with Middle Eastern fusion food available from the venue's 'Zer' kitchen.
