The Cabbage Patch, London Road 67, TW1 3SZ Twickenham, St Margarets
About
Twickenham Jazz Club presents Dominic Howles’ Big Birthday Septet, a jazz concert at The Cabbage Patch. It stars Dominic Howles, a highly respected and much-loved Bristolian double bass player who has performed with many of the greats and released three critically acclaimed albums. The evening features beautiful arrangements of well-known classics and pieces from Bristolian Thoroughfare, centred on Dominic’s passion for the music of Duke Pearson and Oliver Nelson, whose compositions and arrangements will be celebrated. Among the musicians honoured, Pearson was a pianist and arranger who composed ‘Jeannine’, while Nelson was a saxophonist, arranger and composer whose album The Blues and the Abstract Truth is regarded as one of the most significant recordings of its era.
