Ian Davenport: Reflections
Waddington Custot Galleries, Cork Street 11-12, W1S 3LT London, Mayfair
About
'Reflections' is a survey exhibition of paintings and drawings spanning the late 1980s to the present. It celebrates the career of artist Ian Davenport (b. 1966), showing early experimental pieces made after he graduated from Goldsmiths college alongside the Puddle Paintings for which he is best known. The exhibition marks his 11th solo exhibition with the gallery since his debut show in 1990, and traces his process-led approach, from Erased Lines and Watering Can Drawings to poured colour lines and recent splatter paintings. It is accompanied by a new publication with essays, reviews and a conversation with his brother, writer Philip Davenport.
