About

A 60-minute lute recital, part of the London International Festival of Early Music, given in a church. The performer is Nigel North, a London-born lutenist of over 50 years who taught at Indiana University until 2024 and now lives in Belgium. His programme, The Beginning of the World: Dances, Dumps and Divisions, offers short Tudor-era pieces on an 8-course lute, including works by William Byrd, John Johnson and Peter Philips alongside anonymous dances.
