About

Whirlpool Sessions (Downstairs) is a jazz concert of one set at Vortex Jazz Club. It opens the fourth series of the Whirlpool series, presenting six recently graduated musicians selected by the heads of courses at London's main conservatoires, with Sam Eastmond on trumpet as mentor. The musicians are Sylvie Noble on voice, Joe Bazalgette on saxophone, Val Cheesborough on guitar, James Leaver-Whitfield on bass, Chris Outhwaite on piano and Noah Ojumu on drums. The Whirlpool sessions aim to give young musicians a platform.
