About

Susan Inglett Gallery presents Metaphotical Spectra, a solo exhibition of hand-spun, hand-dyed knitted works by Channing Hansen, on view 22 October through 25 November 2026, with a reception for the artist on 22 October from 6 to 8 PM. The works extend Hansen's investigation of algorithmic systems that function as scores in their creation, drawing on biophotons and metaphysical concepts such as emanation, structure, and containment. His algorithms set rigid frameworks that are then altered through wrestling with computation and the handmade, introducing human intuition, drift, and irregularity. The exhibition proposes a structure for understanding perception as a characteristic of interrelated systems spanning computation, biology, and metaphysics.
