About
'Knox Martin: Legacies' is a solo exhibition honoring the gallery artist Knox Martin, presented by the Art Students League of New York. It casts a light on Martin's encyclopedic grasp of art history, design, aesthetics, and ethics in art, uniting major works such as GOD, Homage to Jan De Heem, The Crucifixion, and Leda and the Swan, many drawn from his home and his son Jonathan Martin's private collection. It also includes paintings by longtime students of Martin's and the Art Students League, honoring his role as a prolific and beloved teacher who shared everything he knew about art history and art-making.
