About

The exhibition 'Robert Rauschenberg and Asia' surveys the American artist's engagement with Asia, showing works from the 1960s to 2008 across assemblage, sculpture, printmaking, textiles, photography and drawing. Organised by M+ in collaboration with ILHAM Gallery, with support from the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, it was curated by Russell Storer of M+ and co-curated by Rahel Joseph for ILHAM. It traces Rauschenberg's travels across the continent and his Rauschenberg Overseas Culture Interchange, a travelling exhibition that included five Asian cities between 1984 and 1991. The show forms part of the worldwide celebration of the artist's centennial in 2025.
