Woodlawn Wednesdays: Forest Restoration is a volunteer event that helps restore the woodlands on the east side of Van Cortlandt Park. It is run by the Van Cortlandt Park Alliance, whose volunteers preserve this important urban ecosystem. Participants may remove invasive plants, maintain trails, and learn about forest ecology, plant identification, and restoration techniques; no experience is needed, as tools and gloves are provided.
