Bernie: Richard Linklater's dark comedy about an undertaker.

Directed by Richard Linklater, the film «Bernie» is based on a real case the director had followed at close range. It tells of Bernie Tiede, a funeral director beloved by everyone in the small Texan town of Carthage, whose courteous manner wins people's hearts. His friendship with the wealthy but feared widow Marjorie Nugent turns into an unusual bond marked by dependence, control and growing tension. Linklater blends dark comedy, small-town portrait and crime story through interviews with both real and acted witnesses.
