About
A concert introduction ahead of Els Biesemans' fortepiano recital. Dr. Ingrid Bodsch, music expert and project manager of the Schumann Network, shares facts and anecdotes about the forgotten, highly gifted composer Delphine von Schauroth (1813-1887). She was an enfant prodige and successful pianist who was mentioned in the same breath as Clara Schumann, Franz Liszt and Felix Mendelssohn. Her career spanned about 50 years; during her lifetime only her 'Lieder ohne Worte' were published, praised enthusiastically by Robert Schumann.
