About
This exhibition at Kunsthaus Zürich brings the works of Maria Lassnig and Edvard Munch together for the first time. The museum shows paintings by the Norwegian artist Edvard Munch (1863–1944) alongside work by the Austrian artist Maria Lassnig (1919–2014), under the motto «Malfluss = Lebensfluss». Placed in direct dialogue, the works reveal how closely the two are linked artistically; Munch's expressive imagery and bold handling of colour left a lasting mark on Lassnig. Their art pursues the big questions of life: Who am I? What do I feel? How do I experience my body and the world?
