About
RAKU-Keramikkurs is a three-day ceramics course that guides participants step by step from raw clay to the finished fired object. It is run by Atelier KOBO Keramikwerkstatt with Denis Twerenbold in cooperation with GZ Wollishofen and Mirjana Carigiet. On the first two days, participants shape and model their own vessels or sculptures from clay, using basic ceramic techniques such as the hand bowl, coil, slab and paddle techniques. On the third day the pieces are glazed and fired by the participants themselves in the fascinating raku firing technique, a traditional method originating in Japan in which earth, heat and smoke create unique pieces with typical craquelé patterns – a creative experience for beginners and advanced alike.
