The Witch Hunt (Forfølgelsen): 1981 feature film.

«The Witch Hunt (Forfølgelsen)» is a feature film by Anja Breien from 1981. At the beginning of the 17th century, Eli, a farmer and weaver, returns to her home village and lives freely from her own goat farming, open about her love for the farmhand Aslak. Little by little she draws the envy of the villagers, who begin to attribute supernatural powers and occult knowledge to her – a brilliantly staged witch hunt. Set on the Norwegian west coast, the film is now considered a cult work and uses cold, oppressively long shots to examine how women are isolated under patriarchy.
