About
A talk with an archive tour about the role of alcohol in the GDR's Ministry for State Security. Sascha Münzel of the Bundesarchiv – Stasi-Unterlagen-Archiv Suhl will present selected documents and photographs from the MfS district administration Suhl, showing how widespread drinking was and what consequences alcohol abuse had, such as fights, driving under the influence or the loss of official records. A tour before the talk offers insights into the Stasi records of the Suhl district, from their work with index cards to how the archive handles them today. Visitors can also submit an application to view their Stasi files.
