About
The exhibition "Alltag in der DDR – Straßenfotografien aus den 70er Jahren" presents street photographs of everyday life in East Berlin in the early 1970s, shown as snapshots, reportages and picture stories. The Stiftung Reinbeckhallen Collection for Contemporary Art is behind the show, exhibiting the series presented by Klaus Greiner fifty years ago in their original conception, supplemented by previously unpublished photographs. The material goes back to a 1976 exhibition of the Cultural Federation of the GDR featuring work by non-professional photographers, mentored and curated by the photographer and university teacher Arno Fischer. The images show people and the surroundings in which they lived.
