About
A theatre evening at the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz: the German-language premiere of Alexander Zeldin's play »Antigone. Der Abschied«. The British playwright and director, previously seen at this house with »LOVE« and »The Confessions«, weaves characters and conflicts from Sophocles' tragedy »Antigone« into a family story, translated by Gerhild Steinbuch. Chris wants to start anew with his partner in his late brother Adam's renovated house and scatter Adam's ashes, but when Adam's daughter Annie returns after years of estrangement she brings a demand for justice, and a fight erupts over how to remember and whether to make peace with the past. In English with English surtitles, 90 minutes.
