About
The Community Saturday in der KULTURFABRIK Moabit brings together theater, film and concert in a program of the queer shadow theater piece UNDINI Uncut, the Oscar-nominated documentary Soundtrack to a Coup d’Etat and Kiez Session #5. The day is staged by Jazzfest Berlin, whose Community Week lets young musicians take an active part in the festival. UNDINI Uncut retells the fairy tale of the little mermaid from a queer perspective, blending circus, dance, drag and live music. Grimonprez’s essay film weaves archival material into a story of jazz, the Cold War and colonial power politics in 1960s Africa.
